WHO WE ARE
RochesterCares strives to build bridges between volunteers and organizations, and ultimately, between people and their communities. We are on a mission to inspire and challenge everyone to be engaged in improving the Rochester community through volunteerism and civic engagement.
We represent a new type of volunteer organization that goes far beyond the traditional volunteer clearinghouse. RochesterCares is designed to help individuals give back in a flexible way that accommodates their busy lives, their skills and their interests. To accomplish this, we develop engaging projects with our community service partners, publish those projects in a monthly calendar, and then recruit and lead volunteers during the projects.
We work with more than 25 nonprofit agencies in the Greater Rochester area to find projects that we consider meaningful and rewarding opportunities for our volunteers.
Creating opportunities to make a difference in our community.

The Board is the governing body of the organization, with each member working toward achieving our mission. We’re looking for people who care about the community and want to make a difference.
Board members provide leadership to the entire organization and our operations. Members work with individual volunteers, committees and community partners to solidify and maintain programs, as well as develop relationships with local corporations to provide volunteer program management services that benefit the Rochester, New York community. Board members work closely with each other to share their ideas, skills and expertise for implementing new initiatives, and help raise awareness and funds for RochesterCares programs.
